PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:

Atomic and Molecular Physics is an essential part of Physics. It aims to providing understanding of the Structure of Atoms and Molecules. It covers laws, general conceptions and the basic equations of quantization of atomic states and binding in molecules

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE:

On completion successful students will be able to:

i.        Explain and describe atomic and molecular phenomenon and Atomic structure; Experimental methods of atomic and molecular structure investigation; Binding in molecules; Electronic, vibrational and rotational molecular spectra 

ii.      Apply appropriate knowledge for explaining and analysing properties of Atoms and Molecules

iii.              Use laws and skills in discussing theoretical problems in Atomic and Molecular Physics

iv.              Derive and analyse formulae in Atomic and Molecular Physics
