PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:
To introduce the student to the fundamentals of heat energy and thermodynamics and their applications.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE:
At the end of the course students should be able to:
i. Explain various temperature scales and conversion between them.
ii. Explain the basic laws relating to volume, temperature and pressure.
iii. Describe the basic laws in thermometry.
iv. Define and explain concepts and terms in thermodynamics.
