Information Security Management is one of the core activities that every employee of Kisii University must be involved in at the current levels of Cybercrime, espionage, theft, disaster and terrorism. Securing the University information asset is a responsibility of all KSU community and ICT Department in conjunction with Information Security Management Systems Champions are conducting a one month online training/sensitization to all staff members on Information Security management. The training covers; Overview of Information Security Management, Roles of Employees in Securing Information Asset, Cybercrime, Existing Policy guidelines on Security and Controls.

Objectives of the course:

1.      Identify various  the types of security threats and how to mitigate them

2.      Apply relevant policy guidelines to protect information asset

3.      Demonstrate awareness of ISMS

Course Content:

Week1: Overview of Information Security Management

Week2: Roles of Employees in Securing Information Asset

Week3: Cybercrime

Week4: KSU Policy guidelines on Security

Week5: Review of Security Controls

Wee 6: Assessment

Note: A certificate will be awarded after successful completion of the training.
